Zeno Construction – Kettering Park Tower

Zeno Construction – Kettering Park Tower

Apr 19, '25

This education sector project was delivered at Kettering Park Junior School, where CJB Scaffolding was contracted to provide a bespoke access scaffold and structural support frame for works around the school’s central tower. The scaffold was constructed to a height of approximately 13.5 metres, built from the ground and designed to safely span across multiple existing roofs. The project is being delivered on behalf of LWJ Solutions and is currently ongoing, awaiting partial dismantling of the scaffold as phases of work are completed.

Project Overview

The works required the design and installation of an access scaffold system that could span across several existing roof structures without compromising their integrity. This meant that scaffold loads had to be carefully distributed, and the structure needed to transfer weight away from weaker areas.

To solve this, CJB Scaffolding fabricated a custom steel support system that bolted around the central tower. This steelwork was braced back to the scaffold structure, effectively reducing loadings on the roofs beneath and allowing safe working access around the tower’s upper elevations.

The scaffold was enclosed in debris netting for fall protection and environmental safety, with routine inspections carried out throughout the ongoing project to ensure full compliance.

Scope of Works

  • Full scaffold design and load distribution planning

  • Access scaffold built from the ground across multiple roof structures

  • Custom fabricated steel bolt-on support system

  • Bracing back to the tower to reduce surface loadings

  • Debris netting for safety and containment

  • Ongoing inspections and safety audits

  • Awaiting partial dismantle as works progress

Key Challenges & Solutions

  • Scaffold needed to span fragile or load-limited roofs

  • Required structural engineering to redirect loads to steel bolt-on frames

  • Bracing provided additional stability and reduced stress on the roofline

  • Ongoing project phases required flexible scaffold adjustments

Results & Achievements

  • Safe and stable access provided to the tower’s highest points

  • Delivered a creative solution to overcome load-bearing limitations

  • Ensured safe working conditions on an active school site

  • Scaffold ready for dismantle as each phase of the works is completed
