Located in the heart of Halesworth town centre, this commercial project involved the design and installation of a compliant access scaffold system at the Masonic Lodge. Commissioned for essential roofing and exterior decorating works, the scaffold spanned a two-storey building and required full access to all elevations. Delivered on behalf of the Masonic Lodge client, the project was scheduled for four weeks but was extended due to poor weather conditions delaying follow-on works.
CJB Scaffolding was contracted to supply a compliant access scaffold system for essential roofing and external decorating works at the historic Masonic Lodge in Halesworth town centre.
Given the site’s prominent high street location, the works required a full road closure and diversion to ensure public safety and maintain site accessibility. Our team liaised directly with the local council to gain permissions, coordinate barrier and signage installation, and notify local residents through letter drops.
Additional complications arose on market days, when the standard diversion route had to be temporarily reconfigured to accommodate local traffic and stallholder access. Despite these challenges, scaffold erection and adjustments were completed efficiently, with ongoing adaptations made to support phased roof and decoration works.
The scaffold incorporated brick guards, Heras fencing, and public protection measures throughout the project to ensure compliance and minimise disruption in a busy pedestrian area.
